And so we provide a platform for leaders, grassroots workers, and communities to share their expertise as well as the latest thinking and evidence on a wide range of topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading sub_heading_about\">Why we exist<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A well-functioning civil society is essential to a well-functioning democracy. At IDR, our primary purpose is to make knowledge and expertise accessible and available to the largest audience and, in doing so, to strengthen the work of civil society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading sub_heading_about\">Why you should support us<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We pay attention to where our stories are coming from so that we can hold ourselves accountable to presenting multiple perspectives and diverse narratives. This is why the ideas and insights you read, watch, or listen to on IDR are things you will not find in mainstream media. We have set up a fund that enables us to pay authors who identify as marginalised. Supporting this fund will expand our ability to grow this work and feature more under-represented voices and narratives than we are currently able to.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column col-lg-6 col-md-6 col-sm-6 operating_principle is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading op_head\"><strong>Strengthen our work <\/strong><br><strong>and grow our reach  <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We are working towards building a just and equitable society, one that is better informed about social issues and motivated to act towards bringing about social change.
